Trong kiếp nhân sinh, những khoảnh khắc gian nan vốn là thử thách lớn lao với mỗi Lam viên chúng ta. Nhưng chính trong những giờ phút ấy, ánh sáng của tình thương, sự sẻ chia và tinh thần lục hòa lại bừng sáng hơn bao giờ hết. Tình Lam – tinh thần cao quý của những người cùng chung lý tưởng phụng sự, yêu thương – bấy giờ hóa thân như nhành liễu cam lồ, nhẹ nhàng xoa dịu nỗi đau và mang lại sự an ủi cho những tâm hồn đang gặp tai ương và chịu tổn thương.
Rạng sáng ngày 03 tháng 01 năm 2025, một biến cố đau thương đã xảy ra với gia đình Huynh trưởng Pháp Đạo – một huynh trưởng tận tụy của Gia Đình Phật Tử Hoa Nghiêm. Vụ hỏa hoạn kinh hoàng tại Fairfax, Virginia không chỉ thiêu rụi căn nhà – nơi gia đình anh trú ngụ – cướp đi bao kỷ niệm, đồ đạc và tài sản. Trong ngọn lửa nghiệt ngã ấy, gia đình anh đã mất đi gần như tất cả, để lại nỗi đau khó nguôi cùng một khoảng trống mênh mông trong lòng bao người ở lại.
Giữa khung cảnh tang thương ấy, chúng ta không thể không nhớ đến những lời dạy về “tứ vô lượng tâm” trong đạo Phật – lòng từ bi, sự đồng cảm và chia sẻ. Là Lam viên, chúng ta không chỉ gắn bó với nhau qua màu áo, mà còn qua tinh thần tương trợ, dìu dắt và nâng đỡ khi hoạn nạn. Tình Lam vốn không là những lời nói suông, mà là hành động, là những cánh tay nối liền để đỡ lấy người anh em của mình khi chông chênh, chực ngã trước bão tố cuộc đời.
Như nhành liễu cam lồ dịu dàng làm mát tâm hồn, Tình Lam mang một sức mạnh của sự yêu thương vô điều kiện. Ngay lúc này, các cấp Hướng Dẫn thể hiện vai trò cao quý của mình, và toàn thể Lam viên từ khắp nơi nơi, không phân biệt, có thể góp phần thắp sáng niềm hy vọng cho gia đình anh Pháp Đạo. Một lời an ủi, một sự chia sẻ dù nhỏ bé, cũng là sự động viên quý giá. Một bàn tay giang ra không chỉ giúp anh và gia đình vượt qua khó khăn vật chất, mà còn là sự khẳng định rằng họ không hề cô độc – rằng trong tổ chức này, Tình Lam luôn hiện hữu, luôn đong đầy và sẵn sàng lan tỏa.

In the journey of life, moments of hardship are great challenges for each of us who wear the Lam uniform. Yet it is precisely in those moments that the light of compassion, sharing, and the spirit of harmony shines brighter than ever. The spirit of Lam – the noble ethos of those united by the ideals of service and love – transforms into a willow branch of amrita, gently soothing pain and bringing comfort to souls beset by misfortune and suffering.
In the early hours of January 3, 2025, a tragic event struck the family of Brother Pháp Đạo, a dedicated leader of the Hoa Nghiêm Buddhist Youth Family. A devastating fire in Fairfax, Virginia, not only destroyed the house that sheltered his family, consuming countless memories, belongings, and possessions, but also left them with almost nothing. This merciless blaze has left a deep and lasting wound and an immense void in the hearts of those left behind.
Amid this sorrowful scene, we are reminded of the Buddhist teachings of the “Four Immeasurables” – loving-kindness, compassion, empathetic joy, and equanimity. As members of the Lam family, we are bound not only by our uniforms but also by our spirit of mutual support, guidance, and upliftment in times of adversity. The Lam spirit is not merely spoken words but action – the extended hands ready to catch our brothers and sisters as they falter and teeter before life’s storms.
Like a gentle willow branch of amrita soothing the soul, the Lam spirit carries the power of unconditional love. At this moment, guiding bodies play their noble role, and Lam members everywhere, without distinction, can contribute to reigniting hope for Brother Pháp Đạo’s family. A comforting word, even a small act of sharing, is an invaluable encouragement. An outstretched hand not only helps him and his family through material hardships but also reaffirms that they are not alone – that in this organization, the Lam spirit always exists, always overflows, and is ever ready to spread.
