Sen Trắng Hoa Kỳ 
Sau nửa thế kỷ hiện diện nơi đất khách, một sự kiện đặc biệt đã diễn ra: lần đầu tiên, đại lễ Phật Đản do GHPGVNTNHK tổ chức trọng thể ngay tại thủ đô Hoa Kỳ – một ngày hội linh thiêng, đánh dấu bước đi mới trong hành trình hộ trì Tam Bảo và truyền đăng tục diệm nơi xứ người.
Dưới ánh sáng thanh tịnh của mùa Đản Sanh, hình bóng chư Tôn Đức giáo phẩm và đồng hương Phật tử, người dân bản xứ từ nhiều nơi quy tụ đã làm bừng sáng một không gian đầy đạo vị. Nhưng trong tấm thảm sắc màu ấy, điều khiến chúng ta lặng lòng lại chính là sự hiện diện hân hoan mà không thiếu vẻ trang nghiêm của màu áo lam GĐPT – giản dị mà kiên định, thâm trầm mà toả sáng giữa lòng pháp hội.
Không cần nhiều biểu ngữ phô trương, không cần đến những lời giới thiệu hoa mỹ, chính sự hiện diện trong chánh niệm, trong lễ nghi hòa hợp và trong phong cách trầm hùng của người Huynh trưởng GĐPT đã gửi đi một thông điệp không lời: chúng con ở đây, cùng với Giáo Hội, cùng Chư Thầy lặng lẽ phụng sự, giữ gìn đạo nghiệp từ những điều bình dị nhất – một bước chân ngay ngắn, một ánh mắt từ hòa, một chiếc áo lam không phai…
Trong thời đại mà ranh giới giữa Đạo và Đời ngày càng chồng lấn, sự có mặt của người Huynh trưởng nơi pháp hội lớn không đơn thuần chỉ là sự tham dự của một đoàn thể Phật tử, mà là sự tiếp nối mạng mạch của một lý tưởng – lý tưởng của những người trẻ tuổi trưởng thành trong giáo pháp, nguyện sống và phụng sự trong ánh sáng Từ Bi và Trí Tuệ của đức Như Lai.
Không có ngôi chùa nào to lớn hơn tâm niệm hộ trì Tam Bảo. Không có lễ hội nào sâu sắc hơn một đời sống đầy giới hạnh và chánh niệm. Và chiếc y phục ý nghĩa như màu áo lam của những người âm thầm vun bồi cho đạo pháp bằng chính đời sống của mình, là toàn bộ giá trị gần một thế kỷ GĐPTVN luôn có mặt đồng hành cùng Giáo Hội trong mọi không gian và với mọi Pháp thân.
Bấy giờ, lễ Phật Đản năm nay, trong sự trang nghiêm giữa lòng thủ đô, đã chứng kiến một điều giản dị mà thiêng liêng: sắc lam không phải chỉ là màu áo – đó là một lời nguyện sống. Và mỗi Huynh trưởng GĐPT, khi đứng giữa đạo tràng, không chỉ là một người Phật tử – mà là hiện thân của tinh thần tiếp nối, tinh thần giữ gìn và tinh thần thắp sáng đạo pháp giữa cõi đời nhiều biến dịch.
Chính sự lặng lẽ đi vào giữa lòng pháp hội trong oai nghi và đạo tình ấy đã làm sáng thêm ý nghĩa Phật Đản: sự thị hiện của Chánh Pháp giữa thế gian, qua mỗi bước chân người con Phật đang âm thầm tiếp bước Như Lai.

The First Vesak Celebration in the Capital
of the United States and the Silent Presence of GĐPT
After half a century of presence in foreign lands, a most meaningful event has come to pass: for the first time, the Unified Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation of the United States (GHPGVNTNHK) solemnly hosted a grand Vesak celebration in the very heart of the American capital—a sacred day that marks a new milestone in the journey to uphold the Three Jewels and continue the lamp of wisdom in the diaspora.
Under the serene radiance of the Buddha’s Birth Season, the presence of venerable monastics from many regions converging together illuminated a space imbued with Dharma dignity. And yet, amidst that vibrant tapestry of faith and devotion, what truly touched the heart was the quiet joy and solemn composure of the GĐPT’s lam-colored robes—simple yet unwavering, unassuming yet radiant within the Dharma assembly.
There was no need for grand banners or ornate introductions. It was through mindful presence, harmonious ceremony, and the dignified bearing of the GĐPT leaders that an unspoken message was conveyed: We are here—alongside the Sangha, with our spiritual teachers—quietly serving and protecting the Dharma from the most humble gestures: a deliberate step, a gentle gaze, a steadfast robe that does not fade.
In an age where the boundaries between the worldly and the sacred increasingly blur, the presence of GĐPT Huynh Trưởng (Dharma Teachers in the Buddhist Youth Organization) at such a significant gathering is far more than participation—it is the continuation of a noble ideal. It reflects the living commitment of individuals who have grown up within the Dharma, vowing to live and serve in the luminous light of the Buddha’s Compassion and Wisdom.
There is no temple greater than a mind devoted to the Three Jewels. No ceremony deeper than a life lived in precepts and mindfulness. And no garment more meaningful than the lam robe of those who quietly nurture the Dharma with their very lives—a symbol that carries the weight and worth of nearly a century of the Vietnamese Buddhist Youth Organization walking alongside the Sangha in all spheres, in union with the Dharma Body.
This year’s Vesak, held with reverence in the capital city, bore witness to a truth both simple and sacred: the lam robe is not merely a color—it is a living vow. Each GĐPT Huynh Trưởng standing amidst the Dharma assembly is not only a Buddhist disciple, but an embodiment of continuity, preservation, and the light that illuminates the Dharma amid a world of impermanence.
In that moment, it was not loud proclamations but the quiet entrance of those clad in lam, steeped in reverence and Dharma affinity, that made the significance of Vesak shine ever more brightly: the manifestation of the True Dharma within this world, through each mindful step of the Buddha’s children silently walking in His path.
