Quang Ngộ Đào Duy Hữu: Khóa Tu Học của GHPGVNTN – Hội Đồng Hoằng Pháp – Ban Truyền Bá Giáo Lý Hoa Kỳ: Sứ Mệnh Hoằng Pháp và Sự Tấn Tu Của Tứ Chúng

Trải qua nhiều năm, khóa tu học của GHPGVNTN – Hội Đồng Hoằng Pháp – Ban Truyền Bá Giáo Lý Hoa Kỳ đã trở thành một nếp sinh hoạt tâm linh ý nghĩa, một ngọn hải đăng soi sáng con đường tu học cho tứ chúng Phật tử khắp nơi. Mỗi khóa tu học không đơn thuần chỉ là một sự kiện, mà còn là một cơ hội để trưởng dưỡng đạo tâm, gắn kết tình Lam và khơi nguồn trí tuệ giải thoát cho tất cả chúng ta, những ai tha thiết đang tìm cầu chân lý.

Trong thời đại ngày nay, khi thế gian đầy những cám dỗ, lo toan và biến động, việc dành thời gian cho tu học trở thành một nhu cầu cấp thiết hơn bao giờ hết. Chúng ta không thể chỉ giữ Phật pháp trong kinh điển, trên trang giấy hay trong những bài giảng mà không có sự thực hành, không có sự trải nghiệm sâu sắc trong đời sống hàng ngày. Khóa tu học chính là dịp để chúng ta bước ra khỏi những đa đoan của thế sự để trở về với chính mình, với chánh pháp, để được nuôi dưỡng bởi năng lượng thanh tịnh của đại chúng và sự hướng dẫn của những bậc tôn túc Tăng già.

Mỗi mùa tu học là một nhịp đập trong sinh mệnh của Giáo hội, một sự tiếp nối của tinh thần Hoằng pháp mà chư vị Tổ sư đã dày công vun đắp. Những bài pháp nhủ, những buổi tọa đàm, những thời khóa tụng niệm và hành trì mang lại lợi lạc cho bản thân người tham dự đồng thời còn lan tỏa đến cả gia đình, cộng đồng và rộng hơn là gìn giữ và tiếp nối mạng mạch Phật giáo tại xứ người.

Điều đáng nói hơn cả chính là sự hiện diện của các Huynh trưởng GĐPT tại khóa tu học. Các anh chị không chỉ đến để học hỏi, mà còn để tiếp nhận sứ mệnh hoằng pháp, đem ánh sáng trí tuệ về truyền trao cho đàn em, cho đơn vị, cho tổ chức của mình. GĐPT không thể tách rời khỏi sinh mệnh của Giáo hội. Sự lớn mạnh của tổ chức GĐPT phụ thuộc rất lớn vào nền tảng tu học vững chắc của mọi thành viên. Một người Huynh trưởng không thể hướng dẫn đàn em nếu tự thân chưa vững vàng trong giáo pháp, chưa có chánh kiến, chưa thực hành đúng đường lối của Phật giáo. Bởi vậy, tham dự khóa tu học vừa là một cơ hội mà vừa là một trách nhiệm, một sứ mệnh mà mỗi Huynh trưởng cần nhận thức rõ.

Chúng ta không thể để Phật pháp trở thành một thứ trang sức, một danh xưng, một hình thức mang tính xã hội. Phật pháp là để sống, để thực hành, để thể nhập. Một người có thể hiểu sâu kinh điển, nhưng nếu không hành trì, thì trí tuệ vẫn là trí tuệ của sách vở. Một người có thể giảng pháp hay, nhưng nếu không có sự trải nghiệm thực tiễn trong đời sống, thì lời giảng ấy chỉ như tiếng vang trong hư không. Chính vì vậy, khóa tu học là nơi chúng ta sống với Phật pháp, để mỗi hơi thở, mỗi bước đi, mỗi suy tư đều mang dấu ấn của sự tỉnh thức.

Những ai đã từng tham dự khóa tu học đều có thể cảm nhận sự chuyển hóa rõ rệt nơi tâm mình. Đó không phải là một sự thay đổi chóng vánh, mà là một tiến trình bồi đắp từ từ, như những giọt nước nhỏ tạo thành dòng suối mát, như những tia sáng nhỏ hợp thành ánh bình minh. Một lần tham dự là một lần bước xa hơn trên con đường đạo. Một lần tấn tu là một lần đưa mình gần hơn với sự giải thoát.

Do đó, kính mong quý Phật tử, đặc biệt là các Huynh trưởng GĐPT, hãy cùng nhau phát tâm tham dự, cùng nhau sách tấn và trợ duyên để khóa tu học ngày càng phát triển. Hãy xem đây là một phần không thể thiếu trong hành trình tu tập của chính mình, để từ đó mang ánh sáng Phật pháp đến cho nhiều người hơn nữa.

Hãy cùng nhau đến với khóa tu học không phải chỉ bằng sự hiện diện thể chất, mà bằng cả tấm lòng, bằng tâm thành tha thiết, bằng chí nguyện tinh tấn. Hãy để khóa tu học trở thành nơi mà chúng ta thật sự sống với Phật pháp và mang Phật pháp vào từng ngõ ngách của đời sống.

Mong rằng mỗi bước chân đến với khóa tu là một bước chân vững chãi trên con đường Bồ đề. Mong rằng mỗi hành giả đến đây đều tìm được sự bình an đích thực và từ đó, mang bình an ấy chia sẻ cho muôn người.

The Mission of Spreading the Dharma
and the Spiritual Cultivation of the Fourfold Assembly

For many years, the study retreat organized by the GHPGVNTN – The Council for Dharma Propagation – Department of Buddhist Studies in the United States has become a deeply meaningful spiritual tradition, a guiding lighthouse illuminating the path of study and practice for the Fourfold Assembly of Buddhists. Each retreat is not merely an event but a precious opportunity to nurture one’s Dharma mind, strengthen the bonds of the Buddhist community, and cultivate wisdom leading to liberation for all who earnestly seek the truth.

In today’s world, where distractions, anxieties, and uncertainties abound, setting aside time for spiritual cultivation has become more urgent than ever. The Dharma cannot remain confined to scriptures, written pages, or spoken teachings without practical application and deep experiential engagement in daily life. The study retreat serves as a sanctuary where we step away from worldly entanglements to return to ourselves and the Dharma, to be nourished by the pure energy of the community and the guidance of esteemed monastic mentors.

Each retreat marks a vital pulse in the life of the Buddhist community, a continuation of the Dharma propagation efforts that our venerable predecessors have dedicated themselves to for generations. The Dharma teachings, dialogues, chanting, and meditative practices bring immeasurable benefits not only to the individual participants but also extend to their families, communities, and, on a larger scale, contribute to preserving and sustaining the Buddhist lineage in this foreign land.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the retreat is the participation of GĐPT (Buddhist Youth Association) leaders. These dedicated mentors do not attend merely for personal learning but to embrace the sacred duty of spreading the Dharma, carrying the light of wisdom back to their younger disciples, local units, and the broader organization. GĐPT cannot exist in isolation from the life force of the Buddhist community. The strength and longevity of GĐPT as a movement depend significantly on the firm foundation of Buddhist study and practice among its members. A GĐPT leader cannot effectively guide the younger generation if they themselves are not deeply rooted in the Dharma, lacking right view and proper practice. Therefore, attending the retreat is not only an opportunity but also a responsibility and a mission that every leader must recognize and uphold.

We must not allow the Dharma to become a mere decorative symbol, a title, or a social formality. The Dharma is meant to be lived, practiced, and fully integrated into our being. One may have profound scriptural knowledge, but without practice, that wisdom remains theoretical and detached from reality. One may deliver eloquent Dharma talks, but without personal experience and application, those words are but empty echoes in the void. This is why the study retreat is essential—it is a space where we truly live with the Dharma so that every breath, every step, and every thought is imbued with mindfulness and awakening.

Those who have attended past retreats can attest to the deep transformation that unfolds within. This transformation is not sudden but a gradual process, much like tiny droplets of water forming a cool, refreshing stream, or small rays of light converging into the glow of dawn. Each retreat is a step forward on the spiritual path. Each commitment to deeper study and practice brings us closer to liberation.

Therefore, we earnestly call upon all Buddhist practitioners, especially GĐPT leaders, to wholeheartedly support and participate in this retreat. Let us encourage and uplift one another so that the retreat continues to flourish and expand. Let us consider this not as an optional endeavor but as an integral part of our spiritual journey, so that the light of the Dharma may reach and benefit even more people.

Come to the retreat not only with physical presence but with wholehearted sincerity, with a spirit of dedication, and with an unwavering vow for spiritual growth. Let the retreat be a space where we truly embody the Dharma, integrating its wisdom into every aspect of life.

May every step taken toward the retreat be a firm step on the path of Bodhi. May all who come here find genuine peace and, in turn, share that peace with all beings.
