Lời thưa: Giữa nhịp chuyển động triền miên của thế giới nhân loại, mùa Phật Đản Phật lịch 2570 trở về không chỉ như một lễ hội thiêng liêng mà còn là một lời nhắc nhở sâu xa về căn tính giác ngộ nơi mỗi con người. Tinh thần Phật Đản, như được nhấn mạnh trong các thông điệp của Giáo Hội qua nhiều năm, luôn gắn liền với việc trở về với chính mình để chuyển hóa thân tâm —đó cũng chính là cốt lõi của mọi sinh hoạt tu học trong GĐPT, từ một buổi sinh hoạt đơn vị, một kỳ trại huấn luyện, cho đến cả hành trình trưởng thành của một người áo Lam.
Vì vậy, đọc Thông Điệp không phải chỉ để hiểu mà là để hành. Và hành ở đây không phải là điều gì xa vời mà bắt đầu từ những điều rất cụ thể. Một tâm niệm chánh niệm trong sinh hoạt, một thái độ từ hòa trong tập thể, một ý chí kiên định trên con đường lý tưởng. Khi ấy, mùa Phật Đản không còn là một ngày lễ để trở thành một dòng sinh mệnh sống động được tiếp nối qua từng thế hệ GĐPT, như một đóa sen âm thầm nở giữa lòng cuộc đời.
Amid the ceaseless movement of the human world, the Vesak season of Buddhist Era 2570 returns not merely as a sacred celebration but as a profound reminder of the awakened nature inherent in every human being. In the Vesak Message PL.2570 of the Unified Buddhist Church of Vietnam in the United States, that spirit is rekindled like an inner bell—inviting all Buddhists to return, to recognize themselves, to nurture compassion, and to restore confidence in the path of awakening within modern life. While not detached from the historical and social context of the Vietnamese Buddhist community in the diaspora, the message preserves the full depth of the Dharma: Vesak is not only the commemoration of a historical event, but also an opportunity for each person to “be reborn” in the light of mindfulness and wisdom.
Placed within the context of cultivation in the Vietnamese Buddhist Youth Association (GĐPTVN), the message carries a particularly intimate significance. The educational ideal of GĐPT does not end with the transmission of Buddhist knowledge; rather, it aims to nurture a life of awareness, where each youth member and leader learns to transform themselves and serve the community. The spirit of Vesak, as emphasized in many messages of the Church over the years, is always inseparable from the act of returning to oneself to transform body and mind. This, in fact, is the very essence of all GĐPT activities—from a regular unit meeting, to a training camp, and ultimately, to the entire journey of maturation of one who wears the Grey Shirt.
Therefore, to read the Message is not merely to understand, but to practice. And such practice is not something distant or abstract; it begins with the most concrete things: a mindful awareness in each activity, a gentle and compassionate attitude within the collective, and a steadfast resolve along the path of ideals. In that way, Vesak ceases to be just a single day of observance and becomes a living stream of life—continuing through generations of GĐPT, like a lotus quietly blooming in the midst of the world.
