Sen Trắng Hoa Kỳ 
Vu Lan – không riêng là lễ hội của người con Phật, mà đã trở thành một nét văn hóa Việt kết tinh từ nghìn năm hiếu hạnh, một đạo lý “báo tứ trọng ân” thấm sâu vào nếp sống, vượt qua ranh giới tôn giáo để trở thành tiếng lòng chung của muôn người con đất Việt. Trong ý nghĩa đó, Đại Lễ Vu Lan năm nay do GHPGVNTNHK và Cộng Đồng Phật Giáo Nam Cali tổ chức, với sự hỗ trợ của Giám Sát Địa Hạt 1, Viên Janet Nguyễn, không đơn thuần là nghi lễ Phật giáo, mà còn là một hội lễ cộng đồng – cộng đồng Việt và lan tỏa vào cộng đồng bản xứ, nơi những trái tim “con thảo cháu hiền” cùng chung nhịp đập tri ân và báo ân.
Bấy giờ, buổi tiệc chay gây quỹ cho lễ hội cao quý này đã diễn ra vào chiều hôm qua, lúc 5 giờ 30 tại nhà hàng Diamond Palace 3. Không gian chan hòa tình Đạo và nghĩa đồng hương, chứa chan tâm niệm cúng dường pháp giới khi đại chúng dâng trọn tấm lòng nuôi dưỡng một duyên lành.
Giữa hội trường rộn ràng, bóng áo lam GĐPT thấp thoáng, dù vai trò hôm nay nhỏ bé, nhưng chưa bao giờ là khách lạ trong ngôi nhà chung của Phật sự Giáo Hội.

Vu Lan – The Spirit Beyond Religion
Vu Lan is not merely a festival for the children of the Buddha; it has become a Vietnamese cultural tradition distilled from a thousand years of filial piety, a moral principle of “repaying the Four Great Debts of Gratitude,” deeply embedded in the fabric of life, transcending religious boundaries to become the shared voice of all Vietnamese hearts. In this spirit, this year’s Grand Vu Lan Celebration, organized by the Unified Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation of the United States and the Vietnamese Buddhist Community of Southern California, with the support of Orange County Supervisor Janet Nguyễn, is not simply a Buddhist ritual. It is a community festival—embracing the Vietnamese community and radiating into the local society—where the hearts of “filial sons and virtuous grandchildren” beat together in gratitude and remembrance.
On this occasion, the fundraising vegetarian banquet for this noble festival took place yesterday evening at 5:30 PM at Diamond Palace 3. The atmosphere was imbued with the warmth of the Dharma and the bonds of kinship, carrying within it the heartfelt intention to make offerings to the Dharma realm, as the assembly devoted itself to nurturing a wholesome cause.
Amid the lively gathering, the familiar grey uniforms of the Vietnamese Buddhist Youth Association could be seen here and there—though their role on this day may have been modest, they have never been strangers in the common home of the Sangha’s endeavors.
