Mùa đông dần lùi xa nhường chỗ cho những tia nắng ấm đầu xuân tỏa chiếu trên khắp mọi nẻo đường. Không gian chợt trở nên trong trẻo hơn, lòng người cũng lắng lại trong niềm hân hoan đón chào năm mới. Nơi đây, giữa lòng đất Mỹ xa xôi, dù cuộc sống bận rộn và vội vã đến đâu, những người con Phật vẫn dành trọn những ngày đầu năm để quay về với cội nguồn tâm linh, để thắp sáng tấm lòng tri ân, nhớ nghĩ đến những bậc tiền bối và thâm tình huynh đệ.
Với Gia Đình Phật Tử, mỗi độ xuân về là một dịp quý báu để chúng ta cùng nhau thực hành hạnh tri ân và báo ân. Ngoài những sinh hoạt truyền thống trong ba ngày Tết như lễ Phật, cúng Tổ tiên, thăm viếng thân bằng quyến thuộc, chúng ta còn có một pháp duyên đặc biệt: vấn an, đảnh lễ Quý Chư Tôn Đức Tăng Ni, những bậc Thầy đã dành cả đời vun bồi chánh pháp, dìu dắt đàn hậu học trong tình thương và tuệ giác.
Chuyến xuất hành đầu năm không đơn thuần là một nghi thức, mà là một hành trình tâm linh, nơi chúng ta có cơ hội trở về nương tựa Tam Bảo, tiếp xúc với nguồn cội của mình trong ánh sáng từ bi và trí tuệ. Mỗi lời dạy của quý Ngài như giọt nước cam lồ tưới tẩm mảnh đất tâm hồn, giúp chúng ta vững chãi hơn trên con đường phụng sự.
Bên cạnh đó, chúng ta cũng đến thăm viếng các Anh Chị Huynh Trưởng cao niên, những người đã một thời khoác áo lam, dấn thân phụng sự trong tổ chức, nay vì tuổi tác hoặc sức khỏe mà không còn trực tiếp đồng hành cùng đàn em. Trong những phút giây gặp gỡ, mới thấy rõ nơi các Anh Chị vẫn còn đó ngọn lửa của lý tưởng, vẫn còn đó niềm thao thức dành cho thế hệ kế thừa. Nhìn lại con đường mà các Anh Chị đã đi qua, chúng ta chỉ biết cúi đầu tri ân, nguyện tiếp nối và làm tròn sứ mệnh của người Huynh Trưởng áo lam.
Trên đây chỉ mới là những ghi nhận vội vàng về chuyến đi lễ Phật, đảnh lễ Chư Tôn Đức, thăm viếng Anh Chị Niên Trưởng tại vùng Orange County trong những ngày vừa qua. Vì Phật sự quá nhiều, mà khả năng giới hạn, nên không thể tránh khỏi những thiếu sót, những bất toàn ngoài ý muốn mà hoàn toàn không mang một niệm phân biệt, lãng quên. Chúng con kính xin Quý Ngài cùng chư liệt quý vị hoan hỷ cho những gì chưa tròn vẹn. Trong tinh thần khiêm cung và học hỏi, chúng con xin thành tâm sám hối, nguyện sẽ tiếp tục duy trì và phát huy truyền thống này trong khả năng tối đa có thể.
Nhìn lại một ngày dài, lòng chúng con dâng lên niềm biết ơn sâu sắc. Biết ơn đất trời đã cho một mùa xuân mới. Biết ơn Tam Bảo đã cho chúng con có duyên lành quay về nương tựa. Biết ơn Quý Ngài đã mở rộng vòng tay, dành cho chúng con những lời dạy quý báu. Biết ơn những bậc tiền bối, những Anh Chị đi trước đã vun đắp cho tổ chức Gia Đình Phật Tử, để hôm nay chúng con có con đường để đi, có lý tưởng để nương tựa, có huynh đệ để cùng dìu nhau bước tới.
Chúng con xin kính dâng lời chúc lành lên Quý Chư Tôn Đức Tăng Ni: ngưỡng nguyện quý Ngài pháp thể khinh an, tuệ đăng thường chiếu, tiếp tục dìu dắt đàn hậu học trên con đường tìm về bến giác. Cũng xin kính chúc các Anh Chị Huynh Trưởng cao niên sức khỏe dồi dào, tâm an, trí sáng, tiếp tục là điểm tựa tinh thần vững chắc cho thế hệ áo lam kế thừa.
Nguyện cho Gia Đình Phật Tử Việt Nam tại Hoa Kỳ, Miền Quảng Đức nói riêng và trên khắp năm châu nói chung sẽ tiếp tục gìn giữ và phát triển, để ánh sáng Phật pháp mãi lan tỏa, để Đạo và Đời hòa quyện trong niềm an vui và tỉnh thức.

Spring of Dharma Meaning and Lam Kinship
Winter slowly retreats, making way for the gentle warmth of early spring to spread across every corner of the land. The atmosphere becomes clearer, and hearts settle into the joyful anticipation of a new year. Here, in the heart of America, no matter how busy and fast-paced life may be, the children of the Buddha devote the early days of the year to returning to their spiritual roots, rekindling the flame of gratitude, remembering our predecessors, and cherishing the bonds of spiritual kinship.
For Gia Đình Phật Tử (Buddhist Youth Family), each spring is a precious opportunity to cultivate and practice gratitude. Alongside traditional Lunar New Year activities such as paying homage to the Buddha, making offerings to ancestors, and visiting family and friends, we are blessed with a special Dharma connection: the chance to pay respects and extend New Year’s wishes to the Venerable Monks and Nuns—our revered teachers who have spent their lives nurturing the Dharma and guiding generations of disciples with boundless compassion and wisdom.
This New Year’s pilgrimage is not merely a formal ritual but a profound spiritual journey—an opportunity for us to return to the refuge of the Three Jewels, to reconnect with our origins in the radiant light of loving-kindness and wisdom. Every word of guidance from our venerable teachers is like nectar, nourishing the soil of our hearts, strengthening our steps on the path of service.
In addition, we visit our senior Dharma brothers and sisters, those who once donned the gray robes, wholeheartedly dedicating their youth to our organization, yet who, due to age or health, can no longer walk alongside us. In these moments of reunion, we see in their eyes the unyielding flame of our ideals, the deep care and aspirations they still hold for the younger generations. Looking back at the path they have walked, we can only bow in deep gratitude, vowing to carry forward their mission and fulfill our own as Buddhist Youth Family leaders.
The above is but a brief account of our pilgrimage—offering incense at the Buddha’s shrine, paying homage to our venerable teachers, and visiting our senior mentors in Orange County during these early days of the year. The Dharma is vast, and our capacities are limited; thus, shortcomings are inevitable. Whatever remains incomplete is not due to neglect or discrimination but is simply an unintended shortfall. We sincerely seek forgiveness from our esteemed teachers and Dharma elders. In a spirit of humility and continued learning, we earnestly repent and vow to uphold and expand this tradition to the best of our ability.
As we reflect on the day’s journey, our hearts overflow with profound gratitude. Grateful for the earth and sky, which have gifted us another spring. Grateful for the Three Jewels, which have given us the good fortune to return to our spiritual refuge. Grateful for our venerable teachers, who have embraced us with kindness and shared their invaluable teachings. Grateful for our elders and predecessors, who have laid the foundation for the Buddhist Youth Family, so that today, we have a path to walk, an ideal to uphold, and Dharma siblings to support each other on this journey.
With deepest reverence, we offer our New Year’s wishes to the Venerable Monks and Nuns: May you always be in good health, your wisdom ever luminous, continuing to guide future generations on the path to liberation. To our senior Buddhist Youth Family leaders, we extend our heartfelt wishes for robust health, inner peace, and clarity of mind, so that you may continue to be a pillar of support and inspiration for the younger generation.
May the Buddhist Youth Family of Vietnam in the United States, the Quảng Đức region, and across the world continue to flourish, preserving and expanding our noble mission, so that the light of the Dharma may shine ever brighter, harmonizing with life, bringing joy, peace, and awakening to all beings.
