Xây dựng một Gia Đình Phật Tử bắt đầu từ mục đích giáo dục, giúp tuổi trẻ học Phật biết thương yêu và tôn trọng sự sống, biết suy xét để tìm lẽ thật, biết sống trong sạch, tự lập và hòa thuận với người. Giáo lý cần được chuyển thành phương pháp phù hợp với từng lứa tuổi, rồi thành nếp sống qua mỗi buổi sinh hoạt. Muốn như vậy, người nhận trách nhiệm hướng dẫn phải hiểu rõ chí nguyện của mình, bền lòng với đàn em và lấy việc thực hành làm gương. Số người đông có thể đem lại niềm vui trong ngày ra mắt nhưng phẩm chất giáo dục mới quyết định một đơn vị sẽ đi được bao xa. Đó là tinh thần cốt lõi được gợi ra từ những điều dặn dò thâm thiết về sự ra đời và xây dựng Gia Đình Phật Tử.
Từ nguyên tắc ấy, cơ sở đơn vị hạ tầng mang một ý nghĩa sâu xa tối quan trọng. Đây là nơi lý tưởng chung gặp đời sống cụ thể, một em nhỏ lần đầu học chắp tay, một Đoàn sinh lớn hơn tập nhận trách nhiệm, một người Huynh trưởng kiên nhẫn trở lại mỗi tuần để dìu dắt các em. Trong tiếng hát, trò chơi, giờ học Phật pháp và những việc làm chung, tuổi trẻ dần học cách sống cùng nhau. Một đơn vị được quan tâm nuôi dưỡng đều đặn sẽ trở thành mái nhà tinh thần, nơi các em có thể lớn lên trong tình huynh đệ và tìm thấy chỗ đứng của mình giữa cộng đồng.
Bấy giờ, người Huynh trưởng là hình ảnh đặc thù của sự tiếp nối ấy. Anh chị đón nhận điều thế hệ trước trao lại, suy ngẫm, thực hành, rồi truyền cho đàn em bằng lời dạy và cách sống của chính mình. Sự đúng giờ, lòng công bằng, thái độ nhẫn nại, khả năng nhận lỗi và giữ lời phát nguyện đều là những bài học các em nhìn thấy trước khi hiểu hết bằng lời. Khi một Đoàn sinh trưởng thành và tự nguyện đứng vào hàng ngũ Huynh trưởng, mạch nguồn giáo dục Phật giáo lại có thêm người gìn giữ. Truyền thừa, trong ý nghĩa gần gũi nhất, vốn luôn diễn ra như thế.
Nhìn những tà áo Lam quây quần tại Tu viện Huyền Không hôm nay, nghi thức trang nghiêm bên cạnh niềm vui sinh hoạt của tuổi trẻ, chúng ta thấy một khởi đầu vô cùng đáng quý. GĐPT Huyền Không ra mắt, mở thêm một mái nhà để các em học đạo, học sống và cùng nhau trưởng thành. Xin kính chúc mừng đơn vị mới. Nguyện cho chí nguyện hôm nay được bồi đắp bằng những buổi sinh hoạt bền bỉ, để màu Lam nơi đây mỗi năm thêm khởi sắc, thêm ấm cúng.
Thành kính tri ân Ni Trưởng Nguyên Thiện và Chư Ni Tu viện Huyền Không đã tạo duyên lành và che chở cho đơn vị, trân trọng cảm ơn Ban Hướng Dẫn Miền Liễu Quán đã hướng dẫn, nâng đỡ những bước đầu. Xin cảm ơn quý thân hữu và phụ huynh đã tận tình góp sức, gửi gắm sự quan tâm đối với tuổi trẻ nói chung và Gia Đình Phật Tử nói riêng. Từ sự chung lòng ấy, mong một hạt giống hôm nay bén rễ vững vàng, để mai sau lại có những bàn tay tiếp tục nâng niu và trao truyền Lý tưởng Áo Lam – Hoa Sen Trắng.

Building a Gia Đình Phật Tử (GĐPT) unit begins with its educational purpose: to help young people learn the Buddha’s teachings so they may cherish and respect life, think carefully in search of truth, and live with integrity, self-reliance, and harmony with others. The teachings must be translated into methods suited to each age group, and then into habits formed through every gathering. This calls on those who guide the young to understand their own vow, remain steadfast in their care for the children, and teach by example. A large turnout may bring joy on the day of a unit’s inauguration, but the quality of its education will determine how far it can go. This is the spirit at the heart of the earnest counsel left by the late GĐPT leader Như Tâm Nguyễn Khắc Từ on the founding and development of Gia Đình Phật Tử.
From that principle, the local unit takes on vital meaning as the foundation of the organization. Here, a shared ideal meets everyday life: a child learns to join their palms for the first time; an older member begins to take responsibility; a GĐPT leader returns patiently each week to guide them. Through songs, games, Buddhist lessons, and shared work, young people gradually learn how to live together. A unit that receives steady care and support becomes a spiritual home where they can grow in kinship and find their place in the community.
The GĐPT leader embodies this continuity. Leaders receive what earlier generations have passed down, reflect on it, put it into practice, and offer it to the young through both their words and their lives. Punctuality, fairness, patience, the willingness to admit a mistake, and faithfulness to one’s vow are lessons children see before they can fully understand them in words. When a young member grows up and freely chooses to become a GĐPT leader, the living stream of Buddhist education gains another guardian. In its most immediate sense, this is how the tradition is passed on.
Seeing the grey shirts gathered at Huyền Không Monastery today, with solemn ceremony alongside the joy of young people at play, we witness a deeply meaningful beginning. GĐPT Huyền Không has been inaugurated, opening another home where children can learn the Dharma, learn how to live, and grow together. We warmly congratulate the new unit. May the aspiration affirmed today be nurtured through steadfast weekly gatherings, and may the spirit of the grey shirt flourish here with each passing year, growing ever warmer and more vibrant.

From this shared devotion, may the seed planted today take firm root, so that in years to come, other hands will cherish and carry forward the ideal of the grey shirt and the White Lotus.
