Cùng tất cả Anh-Chị-Em lam viên Hoa Kỳ, thân mến thăm tất cả, đặc biệt quý lam viên đang chịu ảnh hưởng bởi thảm họa lũ lụt tại Texas.
Anh chị em Áo Lam thân quý,
Trong những ngày qua, cả nước Mỹ bàng hoàng dõi theo hình ảnh những dòng nước lũ cuồn cuộn tàn phá nhà cửa, tài sản và sinh mạng con người tại tiểu bang Texas. Dưới những mái nhà chìm trong ngập lụt, giữa những con đường biến thành dòng sông đục ngầu, là những tiếng kêu than, những ánh mắt kinh hãi và những trái tim tan nát vì mất mát bất ngờ.
Giữa muôn trùng cơn lũ ấy, chúng ta – những người Huynh trưởng và đoàn sinh GĐPT – không thể nào không xót xa, không thể nào không thao thức. Chúng ta có thể ở xa Texas, nhưng trái tim Áo Lam không bao giờ ở ngoài vùng bão lũ của tha nhân.
Trong giờ phút này, thành tâm gửi lời thăm hỏi ân cần và chia sẻ sâu sắc đến toàn thể Huynh trưởng, đoàn sinh, phụ huynh và đồng hương – cũng như bất luận là người trong tổ chức hay ngoài tổ chức, người Việt hay người bản xứ – đang chịu ảnh hưởng bởi cơn thiên tai nghiêm trọng này. Cầu mong mọi người được an toàn, giữ vững niềm tin, vượt qua cơn hoạn nạn với sức mạnh của nội tâm, của tình người và của ánh sáng Từ Bi.
GĐPT là một tổ chức giáo dục dựa trên tinh thần Bồ Tát đạo. Từ thuở sơ cơ vào tổ chức, mỗi người áo lam đã được hun đúc bởi một chí nguyện: “Em thương người và vật” hay “Phật tử mở rộng lòng thương, tôn trọng sự sống”. Nay, khi hiện thực cuộc đời gió cuốn sóng dồn, tinh thần ấy cần được thể hiện không qua lời nói suông, mà qua hành động cụ thể, thiết thực và khẩn cấp.
Chúng tôi luôn tin rằng, quý anh chị Huynh trưởng và đoàn sinh, tùy điều kiện địa phương, khả năng cá nhân, đã và đang phát tâm dấn thân vào các hoạt động cứu trợ – dù là đóng góp tài vật, nấu bữa cơm cho người tạm cư, quyên góp nước sạch, hay chỉ đơn giản là một vòng tay an ủi.
Bấy giờ, tùy duyên hoàn cảnh, tùy sức phát tâm. Trong những lúc cấp thiết như hiện tại, mỗi hành động thiện lành – dù nhỏ bé – đều mang ý nghĩa cứu người như cứu lửa, trong lúc đáp ứng thông tư chỉ đạo cụ thể từ các cấp hướng dẫn trực tiếp. Bởi tâm Bồ Tát là tâm biết lắng nghe tiếng khổ của đời mà tự nhiên khởi hành. Tình Lam, từ thuở ban đầu, đã là mối dây kết nối bằng lòng thương, không đòi hỏi mọi hình thức điều kiện, chỉ cần sự có mặt bằng trái tim.
Xin đặc biệt nghiêng mình trước các đơn vị gần vùng lũ đã chủ động liên lạc, cụ thể là Ban Hướng Dẫn Miền Khánh Hòa, luôn nhanh chóng và nắm bắt tình hình an nguy của các đoàn sinh và gia đình, của người dân gặp nạn, sẵn sàng hỗ trợ tinh thần lẫn vật chất bằng khả năng sáng tạo của mình. Và nếu trong tất cả Anh-Chị-Em chúng ta, có ai đang bị ảnh hưởng nặng nề, đừng ngần ngại lên tiếng – để đại gia đình Áo Lam có cơ hội được chia sẻ, được đồng hành, được là một phần trong nỗi khổ của nhau. Đừng để ai vùng vẫy đơn độc giữa dòng nước xoáy.
Cơn lũ rồi sẽ qua. Trời sẽ nắng. Nhưng chúng ta sẽ không bao giờ quên hình ảnh của nhau trong những ngày mưa lớn. Đó là những thời khắc mà người áo Lam sống đúng với lý tưởng của mình nhất. Đó là lúc Gia Đình Phật Tử thể hiện sáng rỡ mục đích.
Nguyện ánh sáng Từ Bi luôn soi đường. Nguyện tinh thần Bi-Trí-Dũng là hành trang trên mọi nẻo đường cứu khổ. Nguyện tất cả chúng ta cùng bước qua cơn bão, như một Gia Đình – không ai bị bỏ lại phía sau.

To all Brothers and Sisters in the GĐPT across the United States,
Warm greetings to each of you, especially to those dear Lam members currently affected by the catastrophic floods in Texas.
Dear beloved Lam uniformed brothers and sisters,
In recent days, the entire nation has watched in dismay as raging floodwaters devastated homes, property, and human lives throughout the state of Texas. Beneath the submerged rooftops and amidst streets turned into muddy rivers, are cries for help, terrified faces, and hearts shattered by unexpected loss.
In the heart of these turbulent floodwaters, we – as GĐPT leaders and youth members – cannot help but feel sorrow and deep concern. We may be physically far from Texas, but the heart of Lam is never distant from the suffering of others.
At this time, the editorial team of Sen Trắng sincerely extends heartfelt prayers and compassion to all GĐPT leaders, members, parents, and compatriots – regardless of whether they belong to our organization or not, whether they are of Vietnamese descent or not – who are suffering the impacts of this severe natural disaster. We pray for everyone’s safety, resilience, and strength to endure and overcome this adversity with the power of inner stability, human compassion, and the illuminating light of Loving-Kindness.
The Vietnamese Buddhist Youth Association (GĐPT) is an educational organization founded upon the spirit of the Bodhisattva Path. From the moment one enters our ranks, each Lam member has been nurtured by a vow: “I love all people and beings,” or “A Buddhist extends loving-kindness and respects all life.” Now, as the storms of life swirl around us, that spirit must be expressed not in mere words, but through concrete, practical, and urgent actions.
We wholeheartedly trust that our fellow GĐPT leaders and youth members, according to local conditions and personal capacity, have already stepped forward to engage in relief efforts — whether by donating supplies, preparing meals for evacuees, collecting clean water, or simply offering a comforting embrace.
This is a time to respond in accordance with circumstances and the compassionate impulse of the heart. In moments of crisis such as this, even the smallest act of kindness can mean saving lives — all while remaining in harmony with any specific guidance from the appropriate leadership. The Bodhisattva’s heart listens to the suffering of the world and responds naturally. From the very beginning, the Lam spirit has been a sacred bond forged by compassion — requiring no formalities, only the sincere presence of the heart.
We especially commend the efforts of the units closest to the disaster zone, most notably the Khánh Hòa Region Leadership, who swiftly made contact, assessed the well-being of youth members and families, and extended both material and spiritual support with resourcefulness and care. And if any of you, dear Brothers and Sisters, are seriously affected, please do not hesitate to speak out — so that the Lam family may have the opportunity to stand beside you, to share your burden, to be present in your pain. Let no one be left struggling alone in the floodwaters.
The storm will pass. The sun will shine again. But we will never forget the faces of one another in these rainy, tearful days. It is in moments like these that Lam members live most truly to their ideals. It is in such times that the mission of GĐPT shines brightest.
May the light of Loving-Kindness guide our way.
May the spirit of Wisdom, Compassion, and Courage accompany us on every path of service.
May we all emerge from this storm together – as one family – leaving no one behind.
